  • If an applicant does not want to appear for the examination, he or she will be promoted to the LDC function after the predetermined default years of service as an SSC MTS employee.

Even if the employee does not take the exam, an SSC MTS can be promoted to LDC through a departmental examination. After 5-6 years of service, he will be promoted to LDC by default, depending on the number of vacancies.

Any MTS employee who has been promoted to LDC after passing the tests can be promoted to UDC by passing another department exam. Otherwise, he may be promoted by default when his term of service expires.

Not only that, but in unusual circumstances, an MTS employee with outstanding years of service can retire with a Gazetted rank or beneath the Secretary Level.
