1] Review Your Outline

To make sure that your essay is coherent, you must have a good outline. But what is outlining, really? This is the first draft of your essay in which you list the topic sentence of each paragraph. 2] Don’t Trust Spell Check!

Many writers depend on spell checking programs, but that is not a good idea at all. These programs are not enough to find all types of spelling errors in your text. A third person point of view is normally a good choice if you are writing a formal paper. In a formal paper, you should not use phrases such as “you know”, “I think” or “I believe”. These informal phrases make your writing sound weak.

5] Use multiple examples to back up your argument

You can definitely improve your paper if you know the right way to use evidence in your writing. Your readers will not find the paper interesting if you keep providing unsupported statements. You must know how to use evidence effectively.

Using multiple examples is a great way to persuade your readers that your assessment is valid, your advice is effective, and your prediction is accurate.

Cite statistics, because numbers are very effective in persuading readers. Do not make a forwarding-looking claim without citing an example. It becomes easier when you know how to do research. 6] Summarize without repeating
